Zhou Honghao

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, internationally renowned genetic pharmacologist, pioneer and leading figure in genetic pharmacology in China, and founder of personalized medicine in China.

He has dedicated his career to the teaching, research, and translational application of pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics. He discovered and elucidated the phenomena, mechanisms, and underlying rules by which genetic factors cause racial and individual differences in drug responses, thereby establishing a pharmacogenetics theoretical system with distinct national and ethnic characteristics. He has published over 300 papers in international SCI journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Furthermore, he has authored five Chinese and English monographs and graduate textbooks on pharmacogenetics, as well as six Chinese and English Pharmacology textbooks designed for five-year and eight-year medical degree programs.

Li Zengzhi

Chief Scientist of BioAsia, Dean of BioAsia Life Science Research Institute

He currently serves as the Dean of Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Chief Scientist of BioAsia, and Chairman of the China Cordyceps Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance. He has been recognized as the recipient of one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and three First Prizes of the Anhui Provincial Natural Science Award. In 2016, he was honored with the Dai Fanglan Lifetime Achievement Award by the Chinese Society of Mycology. He is the author of Insect Mycology and Volume 13 of Fungi of China, among other notable publications.

Chen Zhu'an

Research Fellow, PhD Supervisor, Recipient of the State Council Special Allowance.

He currently serves as a Research Fellow at the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Chief Microbiologist of BioAsia, Member of the Expert Committee of the China Cordyceps Industry Innovation Technology Alliance, and Advisor to the Cordyseum. He previously served as a Research Fellow at the Subtropical Crops Research Institute of the Zhejiang Academy of Sciences, Council Member of the Chinese Society of Mycology, a Deputy to the Sixth and Seventh National People's Congress, and a National Model Worker.

He has been engaged in the research and development of entomopathogenic fungi for over 50 years. Since the 1960s, his work has focused on the contribution of entomopathogenic fungi, particularly wild golden cicada flower (Cordyceps cicadae), to human health. He is currently dedicated to research on the artificial cultivation of Chanhua and has achieved breakthrough progress. He is the chief editor of Discovering Golden Cicada Flower and Golden Cicada Flower: Realizing a Great Dream of National Health. He has also contributed to other published works including Forest Insects of China, Forest Pathology of China, and Insect Mycology.

Chen Yiping

Professor, PhD Supervisor, Chief Physician, Recipient of the State Council Special Allowance.

She currently serves as Lifetime Professor and Chief Physician at Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a renowned TCM physician in Shanghai, Honorary Director of the Nephrology Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, and Council Member of the Nephrology Academic Committee of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

For over 30 years, she has specialized in nephrology and is adept at treating various kidney diseases with traditional Chinese medicine. She is particularly renowned for treating chronic kidney disease with the method of supplementing qi, activating blood, and resolving dampness, using Ophiocordyceps sinensis and Cordyceps mycelium, and treating lupus nephritis with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Since the 1990s, her research team pioneered the use of Chanhua (Cordyceps cicadae) in treating chronic kidney disease, achieving remarkable clinical efficacy and opening up a novel source of therapeutic agents for chronic kidney disease in China. This achievement was honored with the First-Class Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016.

Fan Meizhen

Professor, PhD Supervisor, Recipient of the State Council Special Allowance.

She currently serves as a Research Fellow at the Food & Dietary Supplements Research Center of the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Member of the Expert Committee of the China Cordyceps Industry Innovation Technology Alliance, and Deputy Curator of the China Cordyseum. She previously served as Director of the Cordyceps Research Institute at Anhui Agricultural University.

She has been awarded one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, three First Prizes of the Provincial Natural Science Award, and three Third Prizes of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Her primary research focuses on the development and utilization of medicinal Cordyceps resources, as well as the biological control of pests. To date, she has been granted over ten invention patents related to Cordyceps.

Nigel Hywel-Jones

Professor, PhD Supervisor, Internationally Renowned Mycologist.

Deputy Dean of the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Director of the Strain Resource Bank.

He specializes in Cordyceps taxonomy and has discovered and published 35 new Cordyceps species, with nearly 100 new species published by his team. He once led the construction of the BIOTEC Entomopathogenic Fungi Strain Bank in Thailand and has published over 100 academic papers on fungal taxonomy in international journals.

Liu Yuning

Professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Director of the Nephrology Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Chief Physician at Beijing Dongzhimen Hospital. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Nephrology Professional Committee of the China Association of Chinese Medicine and Executive Council Member of the Nephrology Branch of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

He has long been engaged in clinical and scientific research on the integrated treatment of traditional Chinese and Western medicine for kidney diseases, diabetes, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. He is the author of eight monographs including Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Clinical Nephrology, Therapeutics of Type II Diabetes, and TCM Glandular Diseases, and has published over 70 papers. He has led multiple provincial and ministerial-level research projects, with some research findings reaching internationally advanced levels.

Wang Yuqin

Deputy Dean of the BioAsia Life Science Research Institute

With a long-term commitment to the research and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), she has been awarded one Science and Technology Award of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, one China Patent Excellence Award, and one Third Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. Furthermore, she has obtained two clinical trial approvals for new drugs and been granted over ten invention patents. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she was honored as an Outstanding Academic Leader of Shanghai in 2009.

Tan Youjiu

Executive Deputy Dean of the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Executive Curator of the Cordyseum

He currently serves as Executive Deputy Dean of the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute, Executive Curator of the Cordyseum, and was a Visiting Scholar at Oregon State University, USA. He mainly engages in Cordyceps resource development and the resource utilization of agricultural waste, having achieved fruitful results in both basic and applied Cordyceps research.

Li Chunru

Currently Chief Engineer of the General Engineering Office of BioAsia, Deputy Dean of the Research Institute and Director of the Synthetic Biology Laboratory. He was recognized as a Jiaxing Innovation Leading Talent in 2015. He has presided over 13 national and provincial research projects and published more than 120 papers in domestic and international journals, winning 2 Anhui Provincial First Prizes of Natural Science and 26 national invention patents.

Sun Changsheng

Recipient of the China Patent Gold Award

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Management from Fudan University, as well as a Ph.D. in Engineering from Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. His leading project, A Strain of Paecilomyces cicadae and Its Application, was awarded the Gold Award of the 20th China Patent Award.

Lou Guoliang

Chief Physician and Director of the Special Medical Services Department, Changhai Hospital, Shanghai; PhD Supervisor.

He has been engaged in the field of hematological oncology for nearly 30 years, with extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological diseases, particularly in the comprehensive treatment of hematological malignancies including malignant lymphoma, multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukemia, and acute promyelocytic leukemia.

Obode Christa

Biochemist and Translational Nutrition Scientist, currently serving as Director of the Innovative Food Laboratory & Laboratory Animal Center at BioAsia.

She has over ten years of experience in functional food research, nutraceutical development, and preclinical evaluation of health foods. She specializes in functional nutrition, metabolic disease research, and translational product development, and is dedicated to developing science-driven intervention strategies for chronic health issues including malnutrition, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and dyslipidemia. She formerly served as Chief Research Officer at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Lagos, Nigeria, where she led and participated in multiple innovative research projects on therapeutic foods, functional beverages, and nutraceuticals.

Hadiza Kabir Bako

Food Scientist and Engineer, currently serving as Director of the Testing & Inspection Center at the Zhejiang BioAsia Life Science Research Institute.

Her research focuses on food processing, functional foods, protein formulations, nano-encapsulation, drying technologies, and biomarker-guided delivery systems. She is committed to developing innovative food and pharmaceutical solutions to address global challenges in nutrition, human health, and sustainable processing technologies.
